I just recently purchased a Canon PowerShot S2, and this is one of the first pictures I took playing with the 12x optical zoom feature. This was taken with the default Auto mode settings, outside my office shortly after receiving the camera. I cropped and added a border using Adobe Photoshop, but otherwise the photo is just as it came out of the camera.
